Daughter's of the King

Daughters of the King (DOK) began in 1885 as a lay order of women in the Episcopal Church and churches in communion with it.  Members make a lifelong pledge to prayer and service that will support the parish and the extension of Christ’s kingdom.  At St. John’s, our chapter, named after St. Brigid of Ireland, was founded in 2022.

Our chapter’s mission:
St. John's St. Brigid chapter of Daughter's of the King is an Episcopal sisterhood grounded in prayer, service and evangelism which helps give a rhythm, purpose and order to our walk of faith as we share God's love.

We take a vow to The Order of Daughters of the King and wear our cross as a visible sign that we belong to God, to one another and to our wider community.

We share our walks of faith with each other, knowing its a deep comfort having committed sisters walking with us in faith, serving alongside us, and helping carry one another's burdens.  It’s about living into and enjoying the gift of being a Daughter of the King.   Because we are alike in many ways yet so different, we actively strive to live our faith and create community where "all are welcome regardless".

If you have any interest in learning more about Daughters of the King,  contact Mickey Addison or Kellie Grindstaff through the office.

We meet on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 4:30pm.
