Episcopal Men and Women’s groups are an active part of St. John’s parish life. Everyone at St. John’s (binary and non-binary!) is invited to join the group(s) that speak to them, and are encouraged to take part in all of our parish get-togethers. Although established as independent entities, the groups most often, work together on projects to support the ministries of the church.
On December 7, 2024 we will have our first ever: Breakfast with St. Nicholas from 9am - 11am. Come and enjoy pancakes (gluten and gluten free!), sausage and bacon with all kinds of toppings and meet St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas will be there to enjoy breakfast with you and your children, and tell the story of Christmas! We will also have other St. Nicholas day activities and a Christmas cookie sale. See you there!
Some of our fun fundraisers include a spring yard sale, a bake sale at the Mountain Glory Festival, and the always delicious Port-a-Pit chicken dinner. Profits benefit our St. John's church ministries, as well as mission that happens beyond our walls such as our Food Pantry, the Friendship House of McDowell County, the Episcopal Church of the Advocate in Asheville, and South Mountain Children’s Home and Episcopal Relief and Development (among others).
Winterfest: A celebration of art centered spiritual gifts is the first Saturday in December. If you would like to be a part of our celebration by sharing your artistic talents whether visual or performative please see our Winterfest information page.
