Friendship, Fellowship and Fun

Episcopal Men and Women’s groups are an active part of St. John’s parish life.  Although established as independent entities, the groups often, work together on projects to support the ministries of the church.
Through community fund raisers, money is used to support the Friendship House of McDowell County, the Episcopal Church of the Advocate in Asheville, and South Mountain Children’s Home.

Each year, we all take part in a spring yard sale, the annual Mountain Glory Festival, and host a community chicken dinner with profits benefitting our outreach ministries.
Everyone at St. John’s (binary and non-binary!) is invited to be part of any and all of our gatherings and parish get-togethers which usually include a meal and lots of fellowship.

Super Saturdays are gatherings, usual held on the first Saturday of the month May - October and are intergenerational - for the young and the young at heart, families (large and small), couples and singles to meet for fun and fellowship.  There is love and knowledge to share among our diverse membership and lots of laughs and time to share, activities include tailgating and pot luck suppers, afternoon hikes/birdwatching outdoor movies, game night, line dancing and craft nights. Please let us know if you have any thoughts or ideas for a super Saturday event.
